Artha Industrial Hill, Karawang, July 4, 2025 – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, personally led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Integrated Electric Vehicle Battery Industry Ecosystem Project, held at Artha Industrial Hill (AIH), Karawang, on Sunday, June 29, 2025. This project represents a key part of Indonesia’s agenda to accelerate downstream development in strategic industries.

According to DetikFinance, the project—resulting from a collaboration between Indonesian companies and Chinese partners—is projected to produce electric vehicle batteries with a total capacity of up to 15 GWh, starting with 6.9 GWh in the first phase by 2026. This groundbreaking development is expected to help Indonesia generate environmentally friendly renewable energy in line with the global energy transition vision.

In line with the importance of this collaboration, the support of local leaders is also a crucial factor in the success of the project. The President was accompanied at the event by several national figures and regional leaders, including West Java native Kang Dedi Mulyadi.
